Frequently Asked Questions

Am I in the union/What does In-Unit mean??  Faculty members receive an employment agreement when they are offered employment with UCF.  This Agreement has a simple heading of "In-Unit" or "Non-Unit."  In-Unit faculty are represented by the UFF.  For additional explanation of the differences between in- and non-unit faculty, please refer to the Faculty Handbook.

What is the UFF/How can I get information about the UFF??  The UFF stands for "United Faculty of Florida."  This faculty union has an active UCF-UFF Chapter.  The UFF website can be found at: http://www.uffucf.org .  It contains chapter information.  The link is also at the top of this page.

Why are we bargaining again? (I thought we did that already)
The Collective Bargaining agreement is negotiated every three years, with up to three articles every year opened for bargaining.  Article 23, Salaries, is opened every year, and others may be opened by mutual agreement at any time.
